Which Marketplace Has the Lowest Seller Fees in 2026?

April 5, 2026

We compared fees across all 16 platforms on FeePilot to answer the question every reseller asks: which marketplace takes the smallest cut? The answer depends on what you sell, how you sell, and where your buyers are.

The Short Answer

For local sales, FB Marketplace and OfferUp are free (0%). For shipped items, Depop (US/UK) and Vinted charge the least. But "lowest fees" doesn't always mean "most profit" β€” audience size and sell-through rate matter just as much.

Approximate fees on a $50 item. Actual fees vary by category, seller level, and whether shipping is included in the fee base.

Best Platform by Category

  • Clothing & Fashion: Depop (lowest fees) or Poshmark (largest fashion audience with strong sell-through)
  • Sneakers & Streetwear: StockX or GOAT β€” authentication builds buyer trust and commands premium prices
  • Vintage & Handmade: Etsy β€” the dominant marketplace for handmade, vintage, and craft supplies
  • General Items: eBay or Mercari β€” broadest categories and buyer reach
  • Children's Items: Kidizen β€” niche audience of parents buying kids' clothing and gear
  • Local Sales: FB Marketplace or OfferUp β€” 0% fees for in-person cash
  • Luxury & Designer: Vestiaire Collective β€” authentication and fee caps on high-value items

Fees Aren't Everything

A platform with higher fees but 10x the audience might net you more money. Consider:

  • Sell-through speed: Poshmark takes 20% but has a massive fashion audience with high sell-through. Items that sit for months on a cheaper platform cost you time and storage.
  • Audience match: eBay takes 13.6% but reaches basically everyone. Listing a niche item on a niche platform with 3% fees doesn't help if nobody sees it.
  • Shipping costs: Some platforms include shipping labels. Others don't. Factor in the total cost, not just the marketplace fee.
  • Your time: Cross-listing on 5 platforms takes effort. Sometimes picking 2-3 platforms with the best fit for your items is more profitable than chasing the lowest fee everywhere.
