Depop Seller Fees Guide 2026 β€” Complete Fee Breakdown

Last updated: April 2026

Depop made waves in July 2024 by eliminating the 10% marketplace fee for US and UK sellers, making it one of the cheapest platforms to sell on in those markets. However, payment processing fees still apply, and boosted listings have become Depop's primary revenue source. This guide covers every fee you'll encounter as a Depop seller in 2026.

Listing Fees

Depop does not charge any listing fees. You can list unlimited items at no cost.

  • No insertion fees β€” completely free to list
  • No listing upgrade fees β€” all photo slots and description features are included
  • Listings remain active until sold or removed by the seller
  • No limit on the number of active listings

Selling (Commission) Fees

US & UK Sellers

  • 0% marketplace fee on listings created or updated since July 2024
  • This makes Depop one of the cheapest reselling platforms for US/UK sellers β€” you only pay payment processing
  • The 0% rate applies to all categories with no revenue threshold or cap

International Sellers

  • 10% commission on the total sale amount (item price + buyer-paid shipping)
  • This is the original Depop fee structure, still in effect outside the US and UK
  • Applied on top of payment processing fees

Payment Processing Fees

All sellers pay payment processing fees regardless of location. Rates vary by country and payment provider:

  • United States: 3.3% + $0.45 per transaction (via Stripe)
  • United Kingdom: 2.9% + Β£0.30 per transaction
  • International (Stripe): 2.6% + $0.30 per transaction
  • International (PayPal): 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction

For US/UK sellers with the 0% marketplace fee, payment processing is the only fee you pay on standard (non-boosted) sales.

Boosted Listing Fees

Depop's Boosted Listings are optional promoted placements that increase visibility in search and explore. They have become Depop's primary revenue source since the marketplace fee was eliminated.

  • US & Australia: 8% fee if the item sells via a boosted listing
  • UK: 12% fee if the item sells via a boosted listing
  • Fee is charged if a buyer clicks the boosted listing and purchases within 28 days
  • The boost fee is on top of payment processing fees
  • Boosting is entirely optional β€” you can sell without ever boosting
  • You only pay the boost fee when the item actually sells through the boost

Shipping Fees

Depop offers flexible shipping options β€” use their labels or ship independently.

  • Depop shipping labels: tiered rates based on package weight, available through USPS and other carriers
  • Ship independently: use your own labels and input tracking manually
  • Buyer-paid or free shipping: seller chooses at listing time
  • Underweight penalty: if a package weighs more than declared, Depop deducts the shipping cost difference from the seller's payout
  • For international sellers paying the 10% commission, the fee applies to buyer-paid shipping as well

Refunds and Returns

  • Processing fees are refunded if a sale is canceled or a return is approved
  • Return shipping: typically the seller's responsibility unless the buyer is at fault (e.g., buyer's remorse on an accurately described item)
  • Depop mediates disputes through their Resolution Centre
  • Buyers can request refunds for items not received, significantly not as described, or damaged in transit
  • Boost fees are refunded if the associated sale is fully refunded

Legacy Listings Warning

If you have listings created before July 2024 that have not been updated, they may still incur the old 10% marketplace fee when sold.

  • Update all old listings to benefit from the 0% marketplace fee
  • Simply editing and re-saving the listing (even a minor description change) is enough to trigger the new fee structure
  • This applies to US and UK sellers only β€” international sellers pay 10% regardless
  • Check your active listings and prioritize updating any created before the July 2024 cutoff

Fee Calculation Examples

Example 1 β€” US Seller, Standard Sale (0% Marketplace Fee)

A vintage jacket at $40.00 with $7.00 shipping:

Sale total: $40.00 + $7.00 shipping = $47.00

Marketplace fee (0%): $0.00

Processing (3.3% + $0.45): $47.00 Γ— 0.033 + $0.45 = $2.00

Total Depop fees: $2.00

Your payout: $47.00 βˆ’ $2.00 = $45.00

Effective fee rate: ~4.3%

Example 2 β€” US Seller, Boosted Listing Sale (8% Boost Fee)

Sale total: $47.00 (same item as above)

Marketplace fee (0%): $0.00

Processing (3.3% + $0.45): $2.00

Boost fee (8%): $47.00 Γ— 0.08 = $3.76

Total Depop fees: $2.00 + $3.76 = $5.76

Your payout: $47.00 βˆ’ $5.76 = $41.24

Effective fee rate: ~12.3%

Example 3 β€” International Seller (10% Commission)

Sale total: $47.00 (same item)

Marketplace fee (10%): $47.00 Γ— 0.10 = $4.70

Processing (2.6% + $0.30): $47.00 Γ— 0.026 + $0.30 = $1.52

Total Depop fees: $4.70 + $1.52 = $6.22

Your payout: $47.00 βˆ’ $6.22 = $40.78

Effective fee rate: ~13.2%

Recent Changes (2024–2026)

  • July 2024: 0% marketplace fee introduced for US and UK sellers on listings created or updated after this date β€” a major shift that made Depop one of the cheapest platforms
  • 2024–2025: Boosted Listings became Depop's primary revenue source, replacing the marketplace commission
  • 2025: Payment processing fees adjusted slightly β€” US rate moved to 3.3% + $0.45 (previously 3.3% + $0.30)
  • 2026: No major structural fee changes. International sellers continue paying the 10% commission. Boosted Listings remain optional

Tips to Reduce Depop Fees

  • Update ALL legacy listings β€” if you have listings from before July 2024, edit and re-save them immediately to get the 0% marketplace fee. This is the easiest money you'll save
  • Bundle sales to minimize fixed fees β€” the $0.45 per-transaction processing fee hits harder on cheap items. Selling multiple items in one order reduces the per-item impact
  • Be selective with boosted listings β€” the 8% boost fee can erode thin margins on low-value items. Reserve boosts for higher-priced items where the visibility payoff justifies the cost
  • Weigh packages accurately β€” underweight shipping declarations result in the difference being deducted from your payout. Use a scale and round up
  • Compare shipping options β€” Depop's labels aren't always the cheapest. If you have access to discounted rates (Pirate Ship, business USPS accounts), ship independently
  • Build organic visibility β€” Depop's algorithm rewards active sellers. Refresh listings regularly, engage with buyers, and maintain a complete profile to reduce reliance on paid boosts
